Located in the picturesque Penedes region, just a short drive from Barcelona, Giró del Gorner Winery is a family-owned estate surrounded by stunning landscapes and lush vineyards. The winery's charming farmhouse showcases medieval architecture, offering visitors a glimpse into the rich history of this typical Catalan community.
Giró del Gorner's winemaking tradition dates back to 1887.
With a legacy that spans generations, Gabriel Giró I Via, Jr., the current owner, is dedicated to preserving the family’s winemaking heritage. His great-grandfather replanted the vineyards during the Civil War, and today, these same lands yield award-winning wines. The winery specializes in high-quality red and white wines, as well as classic rosé and delightful Cava, all produced under the DO Cava and DO Penedès designations.
Spanning 48 hectares, the vineyards at Giró del Gorner are divided into 29 distinct plots, each with its own character. Gabriel cultivates a variety of grapes, including Xarel-Lo, Parellada, Macabeo, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon. By blending traditional methods with modern techniques, he ensures the highest quality in every bottle.
The winery has modernized its facilities, replacing old cement tanks with stainless steel tanks that feature automatic temperature control. While traditional wooden presses have been updated, the maturation process still utilizes French and American oak barrels for refining the wines.
Giró del Gorner is proud to be certified as an organic producer, with wines from the 2020 harvest being fully organic.
Visitors can also enjoy a wine and Cava bar on-site, perfect for tasting the wines and enjoying a light snack.

I had the pleasure of visiting a beautiful vineyard. The hospitality was exceptional and we were given a private tour with a picnic in the vineyard. We were served exquisite wine, sparkling wine and delicious food with a lovely view 🍇🍷🥂 I highly recommend visiting this winery. Of course we had to buy some wine with us. We will definitely come back and visit the winery again.

What can I say. This place is just magical. We went on a private tour with Marta, the owner of the vineyard and learnt about the history and how they make the wine. We then sat in a beautiful setting overlooking the vineyards and had a beautiful selection of foods all cooked onsite! The wine was fantastic and the overall experience was 5 star! Thank you for hosting us and we will see you next time!
